So Roots

"yups exactly dude... it's more of a "family" REAL type of vibe man. like... idk i've only been to that dubkonscious show last night as a real local reggae show but that was probably the most amazing show i've ever been to. everything else is all about hype that's why. like SOJA and groundation... it's all hype dude. like after listening to dubkonscious and realizing what music should be about... it's hard for me to really appreciate other bands now dude. haha. like no other band in my opinion is as good or ever will be as good as dubkonscious man. everything about them is what MUSIC and HUMANITY should be about. the message they try to project out towards the listeners is so real and true. and there's just so much love in what they do and you can FEEL it. just from their regular song tracks you can FEEL it. it's amazing man. next time irie souls plays though we gotta go to that show guarantee. mattalatt said they rarely ever play though."

Had a short conversation on AIM with a good friend about roots music, and how everyone came to love our roots music. Roots music from the Aina. Not hating on any reggae bands out there, just saying how watching Dubkonscious one night at Pipeline changed our lives and how bands from Hawaii give off this "only in Hawaii" type vibe. People coming from the maindland may stand in the same crowd as us watching Ooklah or Dubkonscious play and they'll be like "Damn, they're pretty good," but we would be so stoked on it, just because we see them as normal people who live here, too. Taking the time to actually listen to Dubkonscious is a trip. The lyrics, their style, their vibe. It's sick. Can't go through a day at Manana Skate Park without a piece of their song in your head.

Roots With Quality.
