After work tonight, ate some 99 cent tacos from Jack In The Box & had a good conversation about polaroids with a good friend of mine. Only because ever since I finally got my hands on a polaroid camera, I wasn't able to put it down. I've always wanted to try & shoot polaroids ever since a couple of my friends started. Polaroids are just so much cooler. They tell a story better. So, I got hooked up with a Polaroid Spectra AF for free & started to search for some film on eBay. It took me awhile to get used to, only because I was so cautious with using my film wisely. But I've learned that shooting polaroids require a lot of patience. You can't just shoot a polaroid anywhere. There's always a certain time & place to shoot one. That's the way I look at it. Shooting polaroids is a learning process & every photo won't always come out perfect. But that's the magic of it...you're either going to be satisfied or disappointed with the outcome of the photo. With that, you're always going to be 20x more stoked on a good polaroid. Another thing I like is how I rarely ever see Spectra polaroids. When I got my hands on the camera, thats when I first found out about this kind of film. Spectra film has a different format (9.2 x 7.3cm), it's more rectangular than the standard polaroid film. Not only was the print-area increased, but the resolution & color rendition was improved as well. To be honest, I never knew this type of film existed. Since most of my friends use mostly 600 film, it's cool to have something different.
I think everyone should pick up a polaroid some day. It's easy to carry around & it's something cool to have. Plus, the photos mean a lot more than a digital photo.

Shit, I forgot you had a polaroid. I don't think I ever seen you use it. Or maybe I did. I don't know. Find it. Use it.
